In the simplest terms, ANC is the technique of reducing unwanted noise by adding a second sound specifically designed to cancel the first. In the realm of EMC, this translates to creating an „anti-noise“ signal to counteract electromagnetic interference.
The tools at our disposal are many, and today, I’d like to shed light on the Texas Instruments‘ 𝗧𝗣𝗦𝗙𝟭𝟮𝗖𝟭 and 𝗧𝗣𝗦𝗙𝟭𝟮𝗖𝟯 devices.
These devices are fascinating; they’re designed to sense all current-leading lines and inject a phase-shifted signal into them. This counter-signal effectively cancels out the unwanted noise. Hence active noise cancelling.
