When creating or importing new symbols in #kicad I do a manual pinout check.
👩💻👨💻 I always check both Snapeda.com and Ultralibrarian.com for the availability of the symbol, footprint and 3D model. Every time I download one, it’s critical to have a careful check embedded in the process.
🖨️📏 For all large packages, my method is pretty straightforward – 𝗜 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁, 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝘂𝗽 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗶𝗻, 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.
🎯 The goal? To catch all errors in the early stages and to avoid mistakes later. There is nothing more embarrassing than a wrong pin number in the importer symbol. Believe me.
